1. Are you available in the evening and weekends?

Stan's Massage Therapy schedule is very flexible. we understand many people work different shifts. If you discuss your needs with me, we'll try to schedule a time that is good for both of us.  No later than 10:00 p.m. on weekdays and no later than 5:00 p.m. on weekends

2. My skin is sensitive to harsh chemicals & fragrances. What type of lotion do you use?

We use Massage Therapy Lotion by BIOTONE. It is a non-greasy, water base lotion, which contains very little oil. It is fragrance free.

3. When you come to my house, do I have to use my own linens?

We supply everything. All we expect of our clients, is to have an open area to set up our massage table. It may be necessary to move a coffee table, or other small objects that may get in the way.

4. Do I have to get undressed?

This is up to you and your comfort level. Most clients remove all of their clothing except their underwear, and some prefer to keep some items on. You will be covered with sheets throughout your massage and only the area being treated will be uncovered. Your privacy and comfort is priority at all times.

5. Will the Massage hurt or cause pain?

It is common to feel some discomfort during a massage if you have tight muscles or problem areas. However, you may always ask me to modify the pressure if you feel it is too much. Please do not be afraid to communicate at any time throughout your treatment.

6. How long will it take for me to feel better?

Some people feel relief after their first massage and for some it takes a little longer. Everyone is different when it comes to rehabilitation. However, if you commit to a home care plan in addition to your treatments, you should find that it speeds the process along. Home care (ie; stretches) if required, will be given to you by me after your massage.

7. How do I know you are qualified and registered?

All Registered Massage Therapists that are active will be listed on the College Of Massage Therapists of Ontario's website. You may visit www.cmto.com and click on "Search for a RMT". You can then search the first and last name of the RMT to verify their credentials. You may search by address 34 Futurity Gate, unit 16-17, Concord,ON, L4K 1S6, main intersection Dufferin and Steeles.

8. What does a RMT's qualifications consist of?

Registered Massage Therapy is regulated by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (www.cmto.com). Massage students must complete 2200 hours of intensive anatomical, physiological and clinical studies, including practical instruction, at a massage therapy college. Graduation is a prerequisite to taking the provincial examinations; successful candidates then become licensed and registered under the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA). All current registered massage therapists (R.M.T.) are members of this College, and only members of this college may call themselves Massage Therapists or Registered Massage Therapists.

9. Will OHIP cover my Massage Therapy appointment?

Unfortunately OHIP does not cover Massage Therapy. However, most extended health benefit plans do! So, if you have insurance through your employer, check to see what your Massage Therapy allowance is. Some insurance companies do require a medical note prior to paying out for Massage so do make sure you check these details before your appointment. You will need to pay for your massage up front, but you will be given an invoice that you can send to your insurance company for reimbursement.

10. Where is your clinic located?

Stan's Massage Therapy is located at 5050 Dufferin Street, Unit 233, 2nd floor, North York, main intersection Dufferin and Steeles.
